San Gabriel Mission wins second straight girls soccer title

The Rialto girls soccer team had been playing the 2017-18 season with the expectation of making it to the CIF Southern Section finals.
But when the unseeded Knights reached the Division 6 championship game Friday night, they faced the defending CIF-SS champion San Gabriel Mission, which was not only seeded No. 1, but had extra motivation.It was too much to overcome.
Juliana Lopez scored two goals and set up a third when she was fouled in the penalty area as the Pioneers were victorious 4-0 at Corona High School. A year ago, San Gabriel Mission beat Pacific to win the Division 7 title.
